What does it look like to design a place where people, nature, and ideas can thrive together?
NewTree Ranch invites Design Healdsburg guests to experience a holistic approach to design: one that brings architecture, landscape, art, regenerative agriculture, hospitality, and sustainability into conversation with one another.
This progressive experience unfolds across two distinct settings on the ranch, revealing how thoughtful design decisions can shape not just buildings and landscapes, but the way a place is experienced. Along the way, guests will encounter art, conversations with leading voices in design, Rivian test drives through the property, a conversation with Lisa Staprans and Ed Newell, and culinary moments.
Rather than simply talking about the principles of great design, this afternoon invites guests to experience them firsthand, and consider what becomes possible when every element of a place is designed to support both people and the planet.

NewTree Ranch is a 120-acre private luxury eco-retreat and biodynamic farm located in Healdsburg. Founded by Edward Newell, the property focuses on regenerative agriculture, sustainability, and immersive farm-stay experiences. Guests rent the entire estate for complete privacy. Biodynamic regenerative farming operates as a closed-loop system using organic, chemical-free gardening, crop rotation and natural compost methods. Tree and soil care to protect California’s natural biodiversity, and protect wildlife such as California Salmon.
